What is the proper procedure for sweating copper pipe fittings?

you need to take sand cloth and clean both sides of the pipe. ream your pipe. now use a fitting brush to clean the inside of the fitting on both sides. flux the fittings and the pipe. put them all together. now heat up the fitting not the pipe. the solder will go towards the heat. once it is hot enough add solder. try and get it nice and clean and all the way around. don't worry you wont have a pretty one your first time. after your done wipe off the pipe and fitting to clean up the flux. be careful its hot.
